Procedural Terrains¶
Prairie¶

Use a smaller scale a high flat land setting to smooth it out. Keep some small amount of detail and twist to have some variation.

Canyon Desert¶

You can easily create canyon desert scenes with the terraces modifier. For best results use the “Mountains” terrain type and enable Thermal Erosion. You can determine how much flat land to have with the lower terraces (below 20%).

Volcanic Island¶

Start by enabling the island modifier.
Next, enable the Smooth Modifier and set it to radial with a Factor of 10% and a size of 70%. This will make the edges of the terrain flat so they end up hidden beneath the ocean object.
Also enable the water erosion modifier for a more realistic terrain.
You’ll want to sculpt the area where it touches the water, since volcanic islands tend to have more irregular contours.
